No Show/Cancellation Policy

Kew Gardens Family Eyecare takes the responsibility of caring for all our patients very seriously. Our goal is to ensure that all of our patients have timely access to care. When a patient does not show up for an appointment, shows up late, or cancels at the last minute, they are not only denying themselves care, they are also denying timely medical care to another patient who could have been seen in that slot.. Therefore, the following policies are being put into place effective January 1st, 2023.

No Show Policy
Patients who do not show up for their appointments and do not call at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule or cancel will be considered a NO SHOW. Our office will do the following:

After 1st NO SHOW: Our office will call and attempt to reschedule the appointment. We also reserve a right to charge a $25 no-show fee.

After 2nd NO SHOW (within 12 months): Our office will no longer attempt to reschedule the appointment for the patient. The patient will instead be placed on the waitlist and will only be seen if there is a last minute cancellation or change. We also reserve a right to charge a $25 no-show fee.

After 3rd NO SHOW (within 12 months): Our office may choose, at our discretion, to dismiss the patient from the practice. This means that they will be denied any future appointments and will no longer be seen by any doctor at the office. In addition, we will charge you a $25 no show fee.

Cancellation Policy
We understand that situations may arise that cause you to be unable to make your appointment. If something comes up and you are unable to make your appointment, we request that you let us know at least 24 hours in advance. This allows other patients who are waiting to be seen a chance to see the doctor. Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the appointment time will be considered a no-show and you may be charged a no-show fee, at the discretion of the office.

Late Policy
Our goal at Kew Gardens Family Eyecare is to ensure that all patients are seen promptly at their scheduled time. While we understand that delays can happen, an appointment that starts too late impacts not just the doctor but also all patients afterwards for the rest of the day. Therefore, if a patient is 15 minutes late past their scheduled time, we may cancel their appointment and consider the patient a no-show. The no-show policy then applies to that patient.

These policies ensure that we can continue to provide excellent service to all of our patients in a timely fashion. Thank you for understanding!
